May I make a suggestion? Change the colour of font on your foto descriptions - black does not show up with a foto as background - otherwise - some nice memory bashing shots in there, I drove routemasters on the 31 amongst other routes!!

Thanks for your comments i have changed the background and the colour of the font. Hope it is a little easier to read. Will be putting up some pics (eventually) taken on the 31. Glad to see it brings back some happier memories. Keith

Hi Keith, you might remember me from quite a few years ago ! We were both on the same mp12 driver's course at Carlow st,camden in 1985/86 ish ! I was a driver's assistant at Bedford at the time and did a brief stint at Cricklewood for a couple of months after I started on BR in 1980. I'm still on the railway driving for Freightliner heavy haul at Rugby We both have a common interest - routemasters ! I didn't realise you were a RM man until I bought my RML2391 and moved her into Grafton Regis , I saw RM308 in there and asked who owned her , to my amazement ,your name was mentioned which i thought was a coincidence , but as i have seen your photos I know you're the same Keith ! What plans do you have for 308 as I can see she hasn't been out for a couple of years and several people have asked me what is happening with her and even asked if she might be up for sale ? If you wish please feel free to email me back on mark@allin6501.freeserve.co.uk , if you see 2391 out at a rally please come on board and have a chat cheers mark allin

Dear Keith, I am Tibor from Hungary. I' ve checked your website from the Routemasters. Let me put a question to you. Where does the name 'Routemaster' come from? If I think well it is a phrase which refers to these busses' importance, they are the 'MASTERS OF ROUTES'. I tried to find it on the internet, but hasn't met with any information about it. Do you use this phrase for anything else? (ex.: He is a routemaster, he has walked 1000 miles in his life) I know that the first RM was put on roads in 1956, but the name was already 'Routemasters' that time. I traveled on Routemasters in that year when they were withdrawn from the circulation. I feel sorry that the Goverment did not let some on roads for the passangers, just a few for tourists. I am waiting for your reply and than you your help in advance. Best Regards Tibor
